Okay, where to start on this one... Harenas. Lock. Yeah, those two things are the big things in the dialogue, but I'll save commenting on them with anything specific for now.
So, yeah, big, flashy fight here that things to some artistic changes we've recently made will look better as it goes. Actually sort of weird looking back at this page and the one after it given the changes we've been making but eh.
Really, Sareena, what did you expect to happen trying to kick through sand?
In all fairness, she probably just got finished watching Spider-Man 3. In that movie it was really inconsistent with how physical attacks effected Sandman; did they just go through him or was he stunned by them? It was never really that clear.
Not much else to say. Did enjoy the sand effects on Harena, not just the grainy thing we're doing with it but other bits of the lineart, like in her bending down to talk to Sareena in panel 3. Also enjoying working with Sareena's outfit quite a bit. I'd have thought that little eagle in the Mexican flag shoulder-thingie would be tedious to do but it's actually pretty easy. For me at least, might be harder for Martin.
Heheh... Y'know, you could say that picture in the Smids' album of Misty all dirty from the sandbox was foreshadowing. Yeah. Totally what it was. For real, you guys.
Wow, Misty and Ana are just covered from head to toe there, sand powers are among the most difficult to counter so those who can control sand make for deadly opponents, the two main examples I can think of are Gaara from Naruto and Crocodile from One Piece, water and fire work well against sand because wet sand sticks together and fire turns it into glass.
Who knows, maybe Sareena and Misty'll hit on the same way to fight her. But yeah, sand is a fun concept to work with in a fight, lot of stuff you can do with it.
