Woo, good seeing some of Abe's artwork on here again. This short little three-page storyline was both written and drawn by him as something of a holdover since he's still not quite ready to come back yet, and we hope everyone enjoys. I greatly appreciate his work and am eager to have him back.
For now though, we have this! Not really sure how much I have to say on it given I don't really have much to do with it. It is good getting to see some stuff with Walden, since he's been kind of the cheated one of Sareena's brothers so far, and this particular extra from back in chapter three is a good one to give some kind of follow-up to.
As for how this falls in with the story... I dunno. It doesn't really have any long-term reach or anything, so you can probably safely assume it to be canon. It's really just kind of a short, fun little bonus thing, but we might get it referenced the next time Raymond or Walden shows up. We'll see.
I think I somehow have even LESS to do with this, so God knows what I'm gonna say these next few updates. I do miss Abe, hopefully he can come back over the summer and we can get the schedules of both comics back to normal...
He has scripts for another one of these comics involving Alex Rayne, but might be a bit before we see that, given Abe's a busy man.
That said, Abe's side-characters that he put in the magical crowd scenes all have backstories he wrote up for 'em. Guy's great at using characters like that.
Walden's face in the last panel, that is funny, I can't help but wonder if Grant would get that starstruck look on his face and in his eyes if he ever met Alex in person.
Maybe so, though by comparison if Grant met Superman he'd probably just straight drop dead from happiness.
