Yeah, Laura's house was kind of an odd shot, but good to get a break from the norm for me.... Had fun doing it; mainly because it did come out looking pretty fancy. There are a lot of houses of that type several blocks away; pass them on walks if I go far enough.

Sorry Jacob's probably only gonna be appearing in that panel for this chapter as far as I can tell. Originally I was picturing him looking, expression-wise, sort of melancholic like his daughter. But realized that looked too similar to the expression I would normally put on Jenny's dad in Blues (In his case, figure he's sad they don't see each other more).

Didn't want the two daughters-with-single-dads to have dads too similar, so I decided to make Jacob look relaxed and confident, which made a good contrast. From there the rest of his look fell into place very nicely. Kinda curious to draw more of him.

Yeah, this look is more accurate to how I kind of intend to characterize Laura's dad anyway. Generally see him kind of being a bit of emotional support for her a lot of the time and that wouldn't really work as well if he were equally moody. Probably have his moments of it given some of what's to come, though.

Anyway, yeah. Not really a whole lot to say on this one, but I'm happy with it. Sort of a big problem I'm kind of being faced with here is most of what I have to say on it - the design of Laura's house, her dad, and all of that is stuff that's more relevant to WaR's next chapter than it is BP. This scene does move the story along here at least, just the details surrounding it aren't really that important just yet.

One small thing to note, though - sure I don't need to point it out, but notice how Laura doesn't stutter when talking to her dad? She's said in WaR before that she only does that when nervous, so yeah, guess that says a lot about their relationship.

Good to know there are times when she's calm enough to not stutter and once they get to the day care it will finally be a chance to see her acting skills.

Yeah, that was a part both of us were quite eager to get to. Still a few pages off but we will be seeing her in action there.
