Huh, BP will be hitting its 250th page in this chapter. I'll be needing to figure out something special for that, should be hitting it in the scripts fairly soon.
Anyway, the ball is rolling here! This chapter is what most of the comic has been building up to at this point, and I'm hoping everyone enjoys what all's to come. Might be sort of a longer chapter, but we'll see; main reason this chapter's starting earlier than the accompanying WaR one, just in case it winds up needing an extra couple of pages to wrap up. We'll get them evened back up later, one way or another.
As you can see, from the word go it's a weird one. Also we're back to the old hairstyles! Though Sareena has been modified a bit all the same; has long eyelashes which we're thinking about making a permanent change, in a couple of pages her eyes starting being a little different, and her hair's a bit of a lighter brown. I've been tweaking the palette a lot lately actually, probably because with the current batch of chapters starting up (including being most of the way through the Blues one) it's the first real time they're being done in Manga Studio from the word go (at least, by me, since Adam did the first few Blues pages in it) so I've been changing up the palettes a good bit.
Anyway, about all I have to say, so hope everyone enjoys as we move forward!
And now something completely different....
Yeah, thought the eyelash thing might work to make Sareena more feminine in contrast with Misty, plus if Martin didn't like the change we could just say it was mascara for her big day. Martin liked the change but suggested they be scaled back, and... yeah, looking at this page again they're so long they wind up being distracting. Her eyes have always been a touch different, just draws attention to it. They've always been a touch angular in the upper corners, sort of like.... I dunno of an example from offhand.... Sabrina from Pokemon.
Also with the earrings, the shirt partly unbuttoned... I tried to do a sort of "hot teacher" thing without getting too slutty. Maybe "pretty teacher."
Misty, in contrast, isn't even wearing a button-up shirt under her jacket and her tie is even sorta loose, not to mention way too short to be worn without the front of the jacket buttoned up. .... Heh. Actually, she came out looking like the Nostalgia Critic with that coloring. Wonder if that was intentional.
Either way, really just happy to get her back in her normal hairstyle. The other one was such a pain to draw, but can do her normal one in my sleep.
Okay if I'm observing this correctly, the Misty in this page seems to have a very flat chest and no powers.
I think the jacket's just kind of boxy on her thus the apparent lack of a chest. No powers, though.
