Heh. Kind of a funny thing about those two female extras, though I'll let Adam go into that.
Anyway, yeah - this is definitely a welcome change after all of the ridiculously dialogue-heavy pages in the comics lately. There's no dialogue in the next page either, and a lot of the rest of the chapter doesn't have very much. Though there are still some in there that have a ton.
So, yeah. I was kind of unsure how to go about the ice skating part of the chapter, so I decided to go silent with it and let the art sell what's going on. Just give us some fun little moments between Sareena and Misty.
Yeah. I dunno, don't have too much to really say this one, what with the lack of dialogue or anything to comment on. Hope everyone enjoys, and we'll see you for more next week!
Martin may say there's no dialog, but I can't look at this without hearing Margot Kidder reciting "Can you read my mind?"
Huh. Second time in a row I've had a clear musical accompanyment in mind for a BP page. Weird. Either way, kinda annoyed with this page since when working on it it felt like it took forever to do. Can't see it without thinking of it. Not to mention there's a slight problem with those extras....
If they look a little off, it's because they were supposed to be Laura. When I did the lineart I totally forgot that Laura had headed to the post office and drew her in both those panels. When Martin corrected me I promised to fix it later, but he beat me to the punch and just revamped them himself in the editing. I kinda can't unsee that they were modified, but I dunno if it's obvious or if I'm just tainted by knowledge of it.
Either way, the one bit of fun I had with this was Sareena's awkwardness on the ice, which was pretty fun and cute to draw. Even then, was pretty annoyed at how long it took. The next page flowed much faster and was much more satisfying because of it.
This is cute, wonder when the weirdness will start.
Heh, won't be too long before things pick up.
