First off - if you don't read Wright as Rayne, go take a look at it if you want to see the various redesigns we've been doing, which include some characters who have shown up in BP. The logo shows you them for Sareena, Misty, and Ana, but it also has them for Cynthia, Dorothy, Alex, Sarabeth, Laura, Flower, John, and Moon, as well as the villain of the next chapter Brick Leston. That being said...
Thus ends this little arc!
Yeah, I'm really happy with how this whole thing came out, especially this page. That last panel in particular I really like how it worked out - the crowd, the shadows, just all around great stuff, pretty much all thrown in by Abe. Some pretty clear influence is at play heading into the next chapter, one of the early pages in it takes some obvious influence from this one.
Yeah, one part of the point of this - besides the Patriot Initiative stuff - was to address the question of, "So wouldn't Ana try to take revenge on Harena?" The shutting the lights off thing is pretty tame compared to some of that other stuff, after all. So, the idea is that she tried, but Harena out-fought the demon.
Next cover... I typically try not to just leave things sitting at the covers for a week and would prefer to put it up on Saturday, but WaR's running a bit behind right now (thanks to this filler BP's pretty well ahead of schedule presently) so it's for the better we not go that direction this time around I'm afraid. At least plus side we're very happy with how both of the next couple of covers came out.
Chapter twelve, The Fast Life, starts next time then! It's going to be a weird one.
Here we go with Abe's comments-
"I'm not very good with background characters, that's why I prefer to just draw shadows. Plus, I think it helps keep things focused on where the action is at. The real tricks are in the the detail of trying to find out what not to detail and what to detail. Kind of like finding which background to sketch and which to just imply. But that's just my opinion. As long as people make out what's going then I'm calling it a good job."
I really missed Abe's stuff, but I loved, loved that last panel. It actually LOOKED like a damn city. Population and crowds and everything. I actually emulate it a few times in Blues the next chapter. ^^
All I gotta say. ^^ Hope you guys enjoy.
So Ana's the one who turned the lights off and Harena being able to out-fight a demon is a scary display of her power. What does Misty mean by demon form?
Idea kind of is that there's sort of a dormant part of Ana getting revenge on people, it's not happening consciously or anything.
