Heh. Yeah, this page is one I'm pretty happy with. Lot of fun little visual touches I think.
That movie in the second panel... Yeah, another Misfile reference naturally. I was split on whether to mention it or not, but I think in this case it's relevant, since the page it's from has a certain degree of sentimental value; I don't know if it was the latest page when I started reading, but it had definitely just gone up around that point and it is a pretty memorable visual given how in-comic it's done in a different art style from the comic.
Heh, really love that Christmas picture. Idea on that was all on Adam - all I had in the script was a picture of Cynthia and Flower together, he came up with the rest. I really wish this page'd gone up a couple of weeks earlier just because of that.
"Merry Christmas from Flowers and Grumpypants!"
Yeah, looking back this has to be my favorite page in the chapter. At least thus far. Is a lot of stuff just being thrown at the wall and think a lot of it worked. Martin said to go nuts on the clutter in her room so tried to fill it up with stuff. Bits like the guitar I think were in the script, rest I just tossed in to make it look like a pigsty.
The weird red-eye thing was Martin's though. I just left an empty picture frame I meant to be a copy of the White Album, but forgot to put the little "The Beatles" on it so there it is. Heh. Between that and her wearing a Led Zeppelin "Zoso" shirt, guess that would mean she'd have a thing for albums without names. Martin drew in the eye so it wouldn't be blank.
Dunno why I went with a Christmas thing; this was like really, really close when it was drawn so might've just been I was in a festive mood. For some reason I couldn't find reference pictures of Christmas Sweaters that were dorky enough so had to cobble something together myself. Also really liked getting to do her sick-look. My whole approach was basically "Throw in some Tomoko."
Cynthia looks really sick, looking forward to seeing where this is going.
