Really love how trippy this came out. ^^ Great work on the whole thing, how he didn't just focus on one aspect and forget about anything else like I would've done. Very cool.
Sorry for the delay in my own comment, I wound up falling asleep unplanned last night and Adam uploaded it for me.
Funny thing about this chapter is that the idea went through a number of complete changes before settling on this as a set-up for some things still to come. Originally this was going to be about an apparently-haunted small town - this is something I still intend to explore at some point.
An interesting opportunity to work with Layers in Corel 4, and the smudge tool which I used to give those eyes a slightly more eerie effect and cloudy look. I have no idea what these eyes represent, but it was fun messing around with the effect just to see how it all works. Would drawing the portal in which you see the ominous figure floating through have been better like the clouds or worse. I wasn't really feeling to bold to find out. And the deck of the ship is another layer, I tried experimenting with before I know what I know now about clear cutting those pesky lines, but you live and learn on the go and so forth.
