The extras here aren't just randomly wandering into a war zone or anything, for those wondering about that. Idea's kind of supposed to be there are a lot of rooms used for various purposes in this building and outside of Jake's ongoing updates through her website no one's really had the chance to make this known too well for long, so the story's not entirely broken yet. The girls and the Patriot Initiative just both happened to make it here before the cops.
And hey, continuity all over the place here! Besides just seeing the Patriot Initiative again and recapping Hidden Flame - man, that's a way more to the point sum-up of that plot than the bloated 40-some pages it needlessly was, huh? - Sareena's wearing the dress she wore when she fought Nine Eyes for the first time. I actually called for that in the script, though it'd be a nice touch and good excuse to break that outfit out once more.
If anyone's wondering, no, we're not just seeing part of the Patriot Initiative and the rest are conveniently offscreen behind them or something, this is the whole of the group we'll be dealing with through this sequence. Not decided yet if the rest of the group will appear in any capacity in this chapter but probably not.
When I send this over Martin asks, "Are the extras in here meant to be anyone specific?" I reply, "Yeah, that girl in the front is the chick from Gundam Wing and her dad. No biggie, just a weird thought process leading to me putting them in."
Then when I get to page back Martin not only looked up "the chick from Gundam Wing" to find out her color scheme and even though he couldn't find her dad took a guess and got fairly close to his color scheme. Neat. ^^
Anyway, yeah, weird bit of discussion. I do like how Sareena is okay with this purely because she wants to play dress-up. I'm a little disappointed the script said specifically to use the dress she was wearing way back in Chapter 3, since I didn't like the look of that way much. Then again whatever I drew up would've been way more elaborate so eh. This is simple at least.
Do kinda like Knight the most of the three men coming in. The gigantic blond one. Funny part is he's based off Roman Reigns, but between the blond-ness and the facial hair I keep thinking "Hogan."
Really was more thinking Reigns in terms of his way of carrying himself than in his design, honestly. Was going for more kind of a Spartan thing with the design.
