So while trying to come up with weird, wacky stuff for Alex and Laura to be dressed in by the end of this page, I have to stop everything to ask, "Hey, if Alex had an Element of Harmony, which would it be?" Martin said Generosity, since Alex spends his whole life helping people and lo and behold, on looking it up the Element Of Generosity is purple, Alex's favorite color. And matches that coat perfectly. Like... Seriously, the coat on its own looks tacky but with the element it looks great. Clearly he has Rarity's sense of fashion as well as her virtue.
As long as I was giving Alex a garment from My Little Pony I figured I might as well make Laura a WWE champion, so also had to ask Martin what belt would look good on her. He mentioned a lot and I picked that one. I guess 'cause it looked especially badass with the skull. Don't even remember which one it was from offhand; a lot of names were being tossed around.
The script also called for Laura to be wearing "shoulder guard things like Ike has". Really, I should've made their clothes here even more ridiculous and over-the-top since the script also called for them to be wearing every random thing they could put on each other. Should've had it like.... hats on top of hats, dresses on top of dresses on top of dresses....
Whatever, cameos. Carmen Sandiego and Waldo live their lives apart, lost in the fog that is the world, eluding all things including each other... But then at a time things come apart and they find each other again, allowing their love to blossom before they're driving apart once more. Or they're just a couple dressed as them. As for Marvelous Man's costume... Yeah, Martin kinda pointed out that the time-span of the comics relative to each other means that makes no sense, sooo... Eheh... ^^
Actually was a bit of miscommunication on the script - what I had actually called for written in it was Alex wearing the shoulder thing and Laura taking it off of him to buy for herself.
But yeah, bares mentioning on the belt I didn't actually try to make the colors accurate to the real thing. Maybe they just had to go off-brand with it because WWE, which by this point in time is probably doing 1.2 ratings on CMT judging by the way their ratings have been going in recent years, threatened legal action.
But yeah, dunno how much I've got to say on this one offhand, but am quite happy with it. Is this the first time it's outright been said Laura's mom's dead? Came pretty damn close talking about her hospital stay once but don't think it was outright stated. That's an issue that'll be returned to down the line.
