I'm super-happy with this page. The last several pages we'd done before it (including Blues ones) were looking very sub-par or not terribly interesting. When I got this ready to be sent to Martin I just said "This has to be one of the best we've done in a while."
Really like the way Rin came out especially. ^^ Plus I really like seeing the AME Base again. Not to mention Dorothy's room; finally get to put that one layout we drew for filler to use.
One problem is that we should've been able to see Dorothy's window and have the setting sun visible. It's in every other picture. The light is even seeping through the boarded-up windows of the AME base.
Speaking of, I like the idea that the AME base is broken-down and slummy from the outside but once you go in it's pretty nice. Couch, bar, jukebox, dartboard, very fancy office for Xmarlek.... That thing on the wall in the fifth panel is a gunrack, but I was kinda juuuust finishing the page when I added it so apparently everybody's off using the guns.
Can't talk now; must go secure my ticket for Star Wars!
Already saw it myself. Can't believe the shocking reveal that JJ Abrams can make a movie without having lens flares everywhere. Stunning.
Yeah, very happy with this one. Lot of ground to cover at once here, and most of this stuff will be followed up on a little bit before the end of the chapter... which isn't far off as there are only five pages left in it. Naturally a lot of jumping around in the pages that follow this one as a result of that, though we'll be sticking with Alex and friends first.
Though this is the last we see of Hazel and Mercy in this chapter. They'll be back sooner rather than later to be sure, but for the moment this is the last of them. The other legs of the plot seen here will be getting some follow-up before we wrap up though. Including in one way you might not expect.
Also, turns out the Patriot Initiative might not be entirely on the up-and-up! Who'da thunk it?
